History of Top Speed

Welcome to Top Speed Baseball, Northern California’s premiere collegiate-level summer program. Top Speed was established in 2009 with hopes of bringing competitive baseball while offering family entertainment for our community. Top Speed started as an Independent Collegiate summer team until joining their first league the PWBL in 2012. Top Speed was the regular season champions of the PWBL for 2012.  In 2013, Top Speed joined the highly competitive FWL, where they tied the Humboldt Crabs for the regular season title. When playoff time came, Top Speed lost the Championship game to the Crabs and finished in second place.  In 2014, the FWL folded so Top Speed joined the new formed GSCBL, where it was the regular season champions once again, but when playoff time came Top Speed somehow lost the championship game and finished second overall.  In 2015, Top Speed went 25-2 in league play and finished with a 43-6 overall record.  After finishing in first place Top Speed was crowned the GSCBL Champions.  Top Speed also finished the season ranked the #8 team in the nation by Collegiate Summer Baseball  in 2015.  In 2016, Top Speed finished 41-3 in League play and 47-4 overall and once again becoming the GSCBL Champions.   Top Speed also finished ranked 4th nationally by CSB in 2016.  In 2017, Top Speed finished with a record of 49-4, won the GSCBL Championship and finished as on the Top 4 teams in the nation by Perfect Game.  Since, Top Speed formed in 2009, they have won a total of 405 games and only lost 94 in 9 seasons.  In the 6 years Top Speed was associated with a collegiate summer league, they have finished winning 4 League Championships and made the Championship game all 6 years in a row.

Our team is made up of college players from all over the country that are hand picked and highly recommended by college coaches. Players are here to further develop and enhance their skills, in preparation for moving up to the next level.   Also since 2009, Top Speed has seen 50 players sign professional baseball contracts or be drafted after playing for the Speedos.

Top Speed’s season runs from first week of June to the first week of August.

We have players from all over the country that come and play for us each summer and we set them up in apartments in Sonoma County.   If your interested in playing for Top Speed Baseball, Contact Coach Switala at Fastball93mph@att.net.
