Top Speed takes all four from Walnut Creek Crawdads

Top Speed sweeps Walnut Creek Crawdads in FWL play to take sole possession of first place.  Top Speed scored 47 runs in the four game series and hit 12 home Runs in the series and now have hit 62 home runs for the season, which seems to lead the nation according to Point Streak.  Top Speed has also won 10 games in a row as they get ready to enter the  FWL playoffs.
Notables for the weekend at the plate were, Tyler Mautner (University of Buffalo) who was 8-17, 8 RBI’s and 3 Home Runs.  Mautner still leads the the FWL in batting average, home runs and RBI’s.  Bo Walter (Cal State Ponoma) was 6-12.  Alex Sortwell (Ashland University) was 8-18, 4 RBI’s and 3 doubles.  Andrew Vanisi (Canada JC) and Steven Knudson (Oklahoma Baptist) both had 3 Home Runs each this weekend.
On the mound Corey Lathram led the pitching staff out of the bullpen this week, with 6 innings and 12 strikeouts and only giving up one hit. Eric Gleese (University of Hawaii) had a quality start on Friday against the Crawdads, going 6 innings and striking out 8 and giving up only 1 run.
Top Speed Baseball is now in first place of the Far West League with a 20-6 League record and overall record sits at 38-12.  Top Speed will look to sweep the final two game series with Seals Baseball on Monday.  If this happens Top Speed will take the #1 seed heading into the play offs which are once again located at the home of the Humboldt Crabs.  The Top 4 teams will make FWL playoffs which starts Friday, August 2nd.
