Top Speed Has 6 players make FWL ALL-LEAGUE TEAM

The following players made the Far West League All-League Team for 2013.  The following 5 players made first team all league, 3B Tyler Mautner (University of Buffalo) who was also the FWL Player of the Year, 2B Cole Gleason (South Alabama), OF Alex Sortwell (Ashland University), RHP Adam Cline (Columbia University), Corey Lathram (William Penn University).  OF Bo Walter (Cal Poly Ponoma) made second team all league.

Top Speed finished with a 42-15 overall record and tied the Humboldt Crabs for first place in the league for 2013.  During the play offs Top Speed won the first two games heading to the championship against the Humboldt Crabs who already had one loss for the play offs.  Top Speed lost the Championship game to Humboldt 8-6 to end their season as the Runner-Up for the FWL.  In Top Speed’s 5 year short history, they now have an overall record of 220-70 and this was the first year they did not win the Championship in whatever league they have been a part of.  Top Speed also led the Collegiate Summer Baseball nation with 70 Home Runs and was ranked as high as 29th in the nation this season by Perfect game.  Top Speed will await the final national rankings to see if they are listed as one of the top 50 teams in the entire nation for 2013.

Once again a great season for Top Speed baseball, and we would like to thank all of the Coaches who sent us players and the host families who took care of the players all summer long.
