Kurokawa Drafted by the Phillies

imageJordan Kurokawa, who pitched for Top Speed Baseball in 2015, was drafted in the 28th round by the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.

Kurokawa dominated the GSCBL last season, going 7-0 with a 2.64 ERA and striking out 47 batters in 47.2 innings of work en route to winning the GSCBL Pitcher of the Year award.

He pitched collegiately at Division II University of Hawaii at Hilo, where he won five PacWest Pitcher of the Week awards, two NCBWA Pitcher of the Week awards, and was a third-team All-PacWest selection in 2015.

This season Kurokawa went 3-5 with a 2.96 ERA and struck out 67 batters in 67 innings of work.

Jordan is the 31st player to be drafted or sign a pro contract for Top Speed Baseball since the program started in 2009.
