2016 Top Speed Baseball Has 8 Seniors Sign Pro Contracts

IMG_7472Top Speed has been working really hard this summer not only winning another GSCBL Championship but also getting their graduated college seniors signed into professional baseball.   Coach Switala who is a former MLB scout with the NY Mets has been using his Affiliated and Indy Ball connections to help get his graduated college seniors signed to the next level.  The following eight seniors all played for Top Speed this past summer (2016)  and had big time numbers in the GSCBL which helped Top Speed go 47-4 overall and currently ranked #4 in the nation by Collegiatesummerbaseball.com.

RHP-Jackson Zarubin signed free agent with the Anaheim Angles on June 24, 2016.

LHP-Casey Brown signed free agent with the Philadelphia Phillies on Oct 5, 2016.

RHP-Corey Sessions signed with the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League on July 30, 2016.

RHP-Mario Morales signed with the Joplin Blasters of the American Association League on August 5, 2016.

RHP-Diego Ibarra signed with the Texas Airhogs of the American Association League on August 5, 2016.

LHP-Jake Pannunzio signed with the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League on August 6, 2016.

OF-Matt Martinez signed with the Joplin Blasters of the American Association League on August 9, 2016.

3B-Nick Rau signed with the Lincoln Salt Dogs of the American Association League on August 10, 2016.

From Coach Switala, “All these players had terrific summers for us and should all be successful at the next level.  As of now all of them are succeeding at Professional Baseball and are seeing how big the difference is from College to Pro Ball.  Its great winning a Championship each summer, but its even better when you can call these players and say your career is still going to continue and you leave tomorrow for professional baseball.  Thats more satisfying then the championships and the national rankings.”
